Greetings from the Mayor of Nepi Dr. Franco Vita
Knowing that the next regional under-18 youth chess championship will be held in Nepi is a source of great satisfaction for me, because it is further confirmation of our country's great ability to attract and welcome.
We were once again chosen following the great success of the past provincial youth championships, where the excellent logistics of the event together with a choral and well-conceived organisation highlighted the skills of the 'Alfieri della Tuscia' association, the proloco and the entire townspeople in providing a memorable experience for the young athletes and their companions.
But in addition to the 'Alfieri della Tuscia' and all the organisers, I would like to thank and salute our young chess players, who are becoming more and more numerous and increasingly good, and who are bringing so much prestige to our city with their results.
May this regional youth championship bring everyone satisfaction and a lot of fun.
Greetings from the Councillor for Sport of Nepi Dr Federica De Paolis
I greet the young athletes from Nepes and the entire region of Lazio who will participate in the upcoming under-18 regional youth chess championship.
The game of chess is the sport of the mind par excellence, and the positive aspects of playing this game are many and well-known.
Under the cognitive aspect: the strengthening of reflection, analysis, memorisation and predictive calculation skills. Under the educational aspect: the aptitude to respect rules, opponents and to carefully evaluate the consequences of one's choices. Our young chess players are increasingly numerous and, thanks also to the efforts of federal instructors who are prepared and trained in the didactics of this sport, are successfully competing in the various regional and national championships recognised by the federation. This gives us prestige and visibility
The very fact that this important championship has been entrusted by the national federation to the care of the 'Alfieri della Tuscia' is an acknowledgement of our club's skills and commitment to the promotion and dissemination of this noble sport.
In my role, I testify to the will of the citizenship to support your good work. Good game to all
